ABOUT US
Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Incorporated is a historically South Asian based sorority founded on December 10, 1998 by ten Distinguished Ladies at St. John’s University in New York. Sigma Sigma Rho is unique and special because it is one of the few South Asian based Greek organizations to exist nationwide. The name Sigma Sigma Rho was chosen for this organization because it substantially upholds our motives and goals, which are expressed in Sisterhood, Society, and Remembrance. Sigma Sigma Rho takes immense pride in our sisters based on our values and culture.

Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention

Sigma Sigma Rho is committed to working towards our philanthropy of domestic violence awareness and prevention by partnering with the community and standing together as advocates to help the empowerment of women. During the month of October, we hold our annual Sigma for Society week dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence through the works of each chapter or colony at their respective universities. The funds we raise contribute to a non-profit organization dedicated to assist victims of domestic violence. In addition to raising funds, awareness is spread on all our campus communities through service projects, workshops, and informational events.
